Rodos Earthquake

A large earthquake of magnitude Mw=6.3 occurred on 15 July 2008 at 03:26 (GMT) in Dodecanese Island near the Rodos island
which is situated at the Ionian Sea. The focal mechanism solution revealed strike slip type faulting.
The focal mechanism soultion revealed a thrust type faulting.
This earthquake did not alow an eaasy solution in terms of the fault - plane identification.
