Preliminary Slip Model
of 13 June 2008 Earthquake

Eastern Honshu, Japan

A strong earthquake of magnitude Mw=6.9 occurred in Japan, eastern Honshu on 13 June 2008
(23:43 GMT). The focal mechanism solution showed thrust type faulting. The ruptured fault dips
west and has a SW-NE direction, 11 people killed and nearly 300 injured.
