Preliminary Slip Model
of 12 September 2007 Earthquake

Southern Sumatra, Indonesia

A strong earthquake of magnitude Mw=8.4 occurred in southern Sumatra Indonesia
on 12 September 2007 (11:10 GMT). The focal mechanism solution showed thrust type faulting.
The low dip ruptured fault has a SE-NW direction and dips to the west.
